City will not try to buy McCall Ranch property

The city of North Port will not be among the bidders at the auction Thursday for nearly 5,800 acres of McCall Ranch. Worried about the potential loss of water rights, the North Port City Commission held a special meeting Monday to discuss sale of the property and possible purchase.
