One way to rile up St. Petersburg residents is to mess with their downtown waterfront.
That was clear when about 350 people gathered Monday night for the city’s first public meeting on the proposed downtown waterfront master plan.
The attendance at the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg student center was partially driven by The Pier controversy, which also permeated conversation about and answers to five-page questionnaires the city distributed to collect public responses.
