A Tampa federal judge denied a motion to overturn a jury’s malpractice verdict against prominent Sarasota law firm Icard Merrill and senior partner Robert Messick.
U.S. District Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington upheld the verdict, and a final judgment was entered Aug. 19 in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.’s lawsuit against the firm and Messick. The verdict from the May trial includes an award of $1.2 million to the FDIC.
