UnitedHealthcare plans to expand its accountable care contracts over the next five years, increasing reimbursements under the programs to $50 billion by 2017.
The company, one of the largest insurers in the Tampa Bay area, currently pays out more than $20 billion to hospitals, physicians and other care providers under accountable care contracts, according to a written statement.
