Alexander Lenox was sentenced to seven years and six months in federal prison for theft of government property and aggravated identity theft.
He pleaded guilty in December, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Lenox participated in a stolen identity refund fraud scheme with two co-conspirators from April 2009 to May 2011. He also rented two hotel rooms where investigators found lists of identifying information and prepaid debit cards containing fraudulently obtained tax refunds.
