Safety Harbor Resort and Spa has paid a total of $30,786 in back wages to 37 employees following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Investigators from the DOL wage and hour division accused resort management of changing employees’ time records, removing hours and deducting meal breaks, which resulted in minimum wage and overtime violations, according to a written statement from the DOL.
The DOL also contended tipped employees were not paid in accordance with minimum wage requirements.
