Lighting company Evolucia and New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera took a shine to the idea of an LED-lighted baseball.
At Rivera’s instigation, Sarasota-based Evolucia has developed a regulation size Major League baseball that leaves a trail of light when it is thrown, according to a statement.
The baseball has LED lights powered by a rechargeable battery. It has eight embedded Evolucia lights that give the ball a blue glow.
