Hernando-Pasco Hospice Inc. has agreed to pay $1 million to resolve allegations that it violated the False Claims Act by submitting false claims to Medicare and Medicaid programs.
The payment settles allegations that between Jan. 1, 2005 and Dec. 31, 2010, the nonprofit billed the two programs for patients who did not need end of life care, according to a written statement from the Tampa U.S. Attorney’s Office.
