An Urban Institute analysis of the effect of delaying the employer mandate by one year shows it will have virtually no impact on overall coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
The institute found that under full implementation of the ACA, the rate of uninsured Americans drops from 19.2 percent to 10.1 percent. Without the employer mandate, the uninsured rate drops to 10.2 percent – a difference of only 0.1 percent, according to the institute’s report.
