Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. has started its 2013 recovery operations at the SS Gairsoppa shipwreck site in the North Atlantic aboard the deep-sea wreck salvage ship Seabed Worker.
Last summer, the Tampa-based company retrieved 1,218 silver ingots, or bars, weighing 48 total tons from the shipwreck before ceasing recovery efforts due to the approaching storm season and was scheduled to return this year.
