The University of South Florida and Aetna are launching a $2.8 million study to examine the influence genetic testing may have on clinical treatment decisions for breast cancer patients.
The National Institutes of Health awarded the funding to USF for the five-year study, according to a written statement.
The study will follow 5,000 Aetna members from around the country who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer and are undergoing genetic testing.
