Eckerd College President Donald R. Eastman III appointed Suzan Harrison, a professor and 1978 college alumna, as the new dean of faculty and vice president for academic affairs.
She is the first Eckerd graduate and second woman to be appointed to those positions in the history of the college, according to a written statement.
Harrison joined Eckerd in 1989 as a professor of rhetoric and has been associate dean of faculty. She was appointed acting faculty dean last June.
