BayCare Health System is keeping a close eye on Mease Dunedin Hospital as it contemplates ways to improve its operating margins.
The system’s overall expenses for 2012 included a $14.1 million impairment loss for the hospital, one of 10 operated by BayCare.
“We’re working on a plan for Mease Dunedin,” said Tommy Inzina, BayCare’s chief financial officer. “Realistically, we’re going to lose money there for the next several years.”
